The ESG Academy at the University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski” — part of the European BECOME project! 

The University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski” continues to play a key role in shaping a new generation of sustainability experts through the European BECOME initiative, funded by the Erasmus+ programme.

As part of the project, the university showcases its flagship ESG Academy – the first national specialized training program for professionals in the mineral resources industry dedicated to sustainable management, developed in partnership with the Association of Sustainability Specialists.

What does the ESG Academy offer?

• Training that equips industry professionals to meet evolving expectations in sustainability and ESG reporting
• Practical tools, exercises and interactive learning approaches
• A strong emphasis on applying knowledge directly within a rapidly changing business environment that requires professionalism, capacity building and adaptability

Across its first four editions, the ESG Academy has already trained more than 70 specialists from the mineral and raw materials sector. Through BECOME, the Academy joins a European learning community that promotes knowledge sharing, good practices, and the development of expertise in circular economy and sustainable management.
